World Youth Choir 1992

We have borrowed more than 200 CDd and LPs with Veljo Tormis’s music from libraries, and there are some really interesting findings! For instance, here you can see World Youth Choir’s CD from year 1992 where opera singer Annely Peebo sings the solo in ‘Virmalised’/’Northern Lights’, conductor is Tõnu Kaljuste. This is also the CD from which ‘Raua needmine’/’Curse Upon Iron’ took a leap to the world and has now become one of the most performed pieces by Veljo Tormis.

If you want to witness this recording with your own ear, come on 7 August to Tartu Song Celebration grounds! The day starts already at 5:18 am and ends in darkness.
